Substack Launches Creator Accelerator Fund

Substack’s back - alright!

After shutting down many of their Creator incentive programs in 2022, Substack is back with a big one - a $20M fund for doing deals to guarantee that Creators who switched from other subscription platforms like Patreon and Circle don’t lose any revenue. They’ll also offer a partner manager to help with the transition and beyond, as well as access to beta features.

This is a good move if you don’t have a direct partner manager at whatever subscription platform you’re using, and/or if you want growth opportunities beyond what you’re driving from your own audience. This is because Substack’s growth network is one of its competitive advantages against other subscription platforms that don’t drive discovery. That’s big if you’re worried about losing your main source of new members in the event TikTok goes away.

Minimum eligibility is $2000 of monthly recurring revenue from a paid sub, subscription and membership of some sort.

Surprising Nutrient Has Lead Longevity Role

A recent study published in Nutrients shows that a little-known fatty acid, called C15:0, has remarkable benefits that are intended to enhance longevity in humans.

In addition to physically strengthening cells against age-related breakdown, the study showed that C15:0’s 36 cellular benefits outperformed rapamycin, a leading longevity compound.

A decade of Navy-funded research has resulted in fatty15 as a pure, bioavailable, science-backed, patented, and award-winning C15:0 supplement to slow aging and meaningfully protect long-term health, including metabolic, heart, and liver health.

Genuine Product Reviews Make for Trustworthy Influencers

Tell the truth, and nothin’ but the truth

More than half of U.S. shoppers want honest reviews of product pros and cons - and this includes your reviews, influencers and content creators. If you’re doing affiliate deals, it’s to your benefit to be honest about both the good and the bad sides of the products you’re promoting. But how do you hit that balance without alienating the brand you’re working with?

Gently spinning the bad side of things by pointing out how a product can work - or not work - for different types of consumers is one way to be truthful about your experience with a product.

Talk with the brand you’re collaborating with about the benefits of genuine product reviews, which strengthen the bond between influencers and their viewers, and build trust. Use the chart as evidence if you need help convincing them.

Freelance Your Way to Success

Train as a freelancer, win as an influencer

It’s tough out there for aspiring influencers. Nearly 60% of Gen Z are fighting it out, Hunger Games style, to become the next Addison Rae or Rowan Row. So it might be time to turn your skills to another type of business - freelancing.

No matter your skillset - social media, creative, sales, marketing, strategy, coding, accounting, even IRL trade and craft gigs -  there are plenty of freelance opportunities to bring in more revenue.

Sharing your projects via social media posts - especially on platforms like LinkedIn - serves as a live-action portfolio for you, showing off your skills and knowledge as you earn, while the platform algorithms help get you in front of professional prospects. Use your content and your audience to drive customer acquisition - this gives you a leg up over your competitors who don’t take advantage of these opportunities.
