I’ve got bad news and good news.
A few months ago, I pitched you on a Creator Logic Holiday Party in LA. You’ve probably already forgotten about the vision I described, and some marketing gurus would say I’m making a mistake even writing this email, but I want to give you an update in the spirit of building in public!
But first - Creator Logic is all about helping Creators find ways to make money no matter their audience size, and this week’s sponsor, Ramdam, is a great platform for doing that! If you make great content, and want to make real money no matter your audience size, please support Creator Logic by checking them out!

Earn up to $500 per video without a huge audience
I got my very first paid gig through this app, and I have been regularly completing projects & getting paid for them ever since.
You know I like finding you new ways to make money - especially ones that don’t require a massive following. If you make great videos, you can monetize on Ramdam.
Ramdam is a platform that matches you with brands looking to promote apps and products from all sorts of categories (productivity, games, fitness, etc). Pick a campaign and make a promo video, and they’ll pay you for doing it.
It’s a great way to start making money and add brands to your list of partners. The pay is pretty good too — up to $500 per video within 48 hrs after you submit the video.
Don’t just take my word for it:
Ramdam has seriously upped my creator game! Love the variety of apps to promote and getting paid fairly for my content. Def recommend for all content creators out there!
The Bad News
My Grand Vision for the LA Creator Logic Holiday Party was epic - I wanted open bar, free food, epic venue, real snow, ice faeries and other performers…I wanted to go full Hollywood for you!
I pitched executives I know at 22 different companies, and ran into the same blockers over and over:
Companies are focused on measurable performance over immeasurable brand marketing right now.
A few companies decided they’d rather host their own holiday parties.
Most companies didn’t have large enough budgets available to meaningfully fund something this big.
Ultimately, I failed to secure any funding for the Grand Vision.
The Good News
While we won’t have open bar, ice dancers, or a snowglobe photo booth, the annual Creator Logic LA Meetup is still happening!
It’ll be at my favorite bar in LA, .neat on Pico, on December 9th. If you know me, you know I’m a beverage snob and they’ve got incredible cocktails, mocktails, and mile-long whiskey and tequila lists.
Like last year, it’ll be a super fun opportunity to meet and spend time with other Creators and execs from the industry!

The Lesson
After I failed to pull together the funding I needed for my big vision, I completely pulled the plug. I decided I wasn’t going to do a party if I couldn’t do it the way I wanted.
Then people started emailing me asking for details. Some even wanted to plan travel to LA around the event.
I realized that people don’t want to come to this event because I’ll have fancy production…they want to come because they want to spend time with other people in this beautiful Creator community we’re all part of!
And, honestly, that’s what I want as well. I sit at home writing all day, but I’m actually an extrovert. I love hosting, I love meeting all of you, and I really want to do this because it’s so much fun!
So…I pivoted.
I let go of the Gatsby-level party Grand Vision I’ve had for two years, and instead found a venue with amazing cocktails that’s willing to open up on a Monday without me writing a personal check.
All we really need are great drinks and each other, and we’re going to have a great time.
The lesson for me - and maybe for you - is this:
It’s OK to compromise with your vision, if it lets you achieve the thing that really matters.
What I thought mattered:
Memorable activations
Open bar
Fancy decorations
What actually matters:
Creators
Good vibes (cringe, I know, but it’s true)
Spending time with each other
Once I realized that, making this event happen was no question at all.
I can’t wait to see you there!
